Elliana's birthday party was on Saturday, and we were so busy with all the prep and festivities that I never did take time out to give the traditional "One year ago today..." speech/blog! The short version: One year ago last Monday, we assured our families that Cubby Two wouldn't be coming anytime soon, and cruised up to the hospital at 3:45am. Less than 20 minutes later, Elliana Michelle entered the world! Like Ellie herself, her delivery was the complete opposite of her sister's, which involved an epidural, lots of waiting, and (thanks to an excellent anesthesiologist) nary an ounce of pain after the 7cm mark. Both deliveries--like both of our girls--were perfect in their own ways, and we had a great time celebrating the one-year anniversary of Ellie's big entrance!
The birthday girl, sporting her ladybug dress and hangin' with Pop-Pop:
She actually goes, "Mmmmmmmmmm!" when something is yummy:
Did Big Sister manage to squeeze in some fun (and some cupcakes)? Indeed, she did:
What's a birthday party without a few parlor tricks from the guest of honor?
That night, Keira dyed Easter eggs....
...and the next day, we headed to Grandma and Pap-Pap's for Easter. The girls sported their coordinating-but-not-matching, comfy dresses and had a great time.
"You may have the ability to walk, Big Sister, but I still got the biggest egg of all. MWAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!"
How much do I love these pigtails, blowin' in the wind??
Definitely worth a packed weekend to see the smiling faces! Glad you guys had a great Easter!
ReplyDeleteSeriously, the ponytail's blowing in the wind is adorable.
