Happy Birthday, Grandma Marmee!

Today is Grandma Marmee's birthday, and because there is apparently no justice in the world, she is spending her special day in the hospital. Bear's mom is awesome, which isn't surprising considering how my husband turned out! She's equal parts girly-girl (sewing, quilting, and enjoying the foofy things in life) and tomboy (throwing things at the TV with the best of them during baseball season), and spends I-don't-know-how-many hours in her kitchen concocting heavenly things for all of us to eat for every imaginable occasion. The time she spends with her grandkids is above and beyond mere "babysitting": she has seemingly limitless energy (or is very good at faking it) and has taught Keira tons of silly songs, Hawaiian dances, bird calls, and other fun tricks. We're all so lucky to have her, and although the girls haven't been able to see her lately, we hope she'll be feeling better soon and ready to celebrate with us!
