Goodbye, Cruel Summer!

Bananarama was right about one thing: summer is cruel. The summer of 2009, in particular, was full of bad times for our friends and family: health problems, relationship problems, money problems, loss of loved ones...you name it. For us Bears, things sucked on a smaller scale: lack of sleep, car trouble, back-to-work stress, more car trouble, and so on. Plus, as Bear's sister says, we live in Mordor, and it's way too freakin' hot to go outside or do much of anything besides--if you're Keira--hang around in your underwear.

Now, however, the good times begin anew. It's fall, which means pumpkin smoothies, pumpkin patches, apple picking, playing in the backyard without getting accosted by insects, crisp weather, hot chocolate, football (for Bear), and the resurrection of the duvet and the retiring of the less-cozy summer blanket...just to name a few of the joys that lie ahead. Plus, at the risk of totally jinxing it, Ellie seems to be growing out of the 4-5 times a night wakeup calls, and I got almost 6 consecutive hours of sleep last night. Yippee!

Helloooooooooooo, fall!
