Back to Oval Seven

Well, to make an agonizingly long decision short, we decided to pass on the house and keep looking. We decided that, bottom line, if we're already having doubts and feeling more stressed than excited, then this isn't the one for us. So, we're back to Square One, which is, as Jerry Seinfeld points out, "the only numbered square in the game. At least you know where you are. Nobody ever screws up and goes, 'Well, back to oval seven.'" (Yes, there is a Seinfeld or "Friends" quote for every occasion in life.)

But enough about us. Keira has taken advantage of my distractedness (is that even a word?) by honing her highly-developed Monkey Skills: namely, climbing furniture. In the 30 seconds it took me to walk over to the computer yesterday, refresh my email to see if our appraisal had come in, and click on the document, she managed to do this (see right).

When I turned and saw her, I said, "Keira...NO!" And then, on second thought, I grabbed my camera to document the mischief before getting her down. What a firm disciplinarian I am! She later re-created the trick for me by standing on top of her play kitchen and scurrying up onto the end table like she's done it 100 times before...little punk.

Great-Grandma and Poppy came over last week, and Poppy brought Keira two (yes, TWO! Keira's favorite number!) old cell phones, with chargers. She looooooves them, and we love that she's not calling Indonesia or texting hot dog vendors in Key West anymore on our phones! Here's a pic of her examining the charger, which she drags around like a puppy on a leash and then practices plugging into the phone--fine motor skills, baby!
