Chop, Chop!

Keira's new Favorite Thing in the Universe is cutting with scissors. Grandma W. gave her a "fancy" pink pair, and I've been trying to teach her how to cut holding them correctly. As you can see, it's quite a challenge for her, and usually her mouth opens and closes along with the scissors. Apparently, she's the Michael Jordan of the toddler world (though, truth be told, Mommy was much more of a Magic Johnson fan and feels that if she, personally, attempted 42 shots a game like Jordan did, she might be able to score 30 points or so per game, too--but I digress)...note the tongue:

And speaking of chop-chop, I'm getting slightly impatient with Operation: Baby, Take a Bottle, which we thought we were starting plenty in advance for me hangin' tough with the New Kids on the Block in July, and going back to work part-time in August. Three weeks, five types of bottles, and three brands of formula later, still no luck. We've offered Ellie Bugga-Bug bottles of breast milk and of formula; from me and from Bear; while sitting, standing, rocking, bouncing, and walking around facing in or facing out; at all times of the day; and have generally tried everything short of blaring Barry Manilow while jumping on a pogo stick as we feed her. We thought we had a real breakthrough the other day, after dipping the bottle nipple in sugar water and seeing her gobble up an ounce or so immediately, but the same trick hasn't worked since. Little stinker! It would make me feel a lot better if we could get her to relax her Boob-Only policy sometime soon...is there some type of bottle dance we could do?
