Tick-Tock...

We're at T minus 13 days from Cubby Two's due date, and getting reasonably close to being ready for him/her to make an entrance...but we're not there yet! Last week and this week, we're cramming in play dates, birthday festivities, and the last few things on the To-Do List as much as we can.

As for Cubby, digging and spraying water in the back yard is Priority One these days:

She had a blast playing with my friend Melanie and her adorable little boy, Charlie, at the park while I sat there like a blob and took pics:

Yesterday, Bear's family came over to celebrate my birthday a little early, and Grandma Marmee and Pop-Pop brought Cubby some rockin' gardening gear (when I went out to take this pic, Cubby kindly suggested I go back in the house and let her play with Pop-Pop):

Cubby was right there to help Grandma Marmee make dinner (which was yuuuuummmmyyy):

As precious as the little stinker is, Cubby is definitely giving me a run for my money this past week. In addition to her little neighborhood-wandering escapade, she has also decided that she no longer needs to take naps (opting instead to do WWF-style stunts in her crib, yell every song she knows at the top of her lungs, and occasionally strip), and that taking off her clothes and going potty in random places whenever Mommy isn't looking is WAY fun. It's a good thing she balances it out with being cute and highly entertaining...for example:
  • I am now addressed as "Mom-O" or "Little Mama." Apparently, someone clued her in to the fact that if you're going to make a hugely pregnant woman clean up your potty "accidents" and monitor your mischief like a hawk, the least you could do is flatter her by referring to her as "little." It kind of works.
  • When Bear was driving the other day with only one hand on the steering wheel, she called from the back seat, "Daddyyyyy...where's the steeeeeering wheel? Two hands, pweeze!"
  • She busted out her toy screwdriver to "fix" the corn dog Bear was eating, and then told him (in ultra-perky Dora tone), "You're really good at corn-dogging!" Whatever that means.
  • Though she's never seen or even heard mention of No Country For Old Men, she suddenly referred to me as "Friend-O" the other day...while she was playing with the plastic coins from her toy cash register. Bear thinks we need to train her to flip the coins and say, "Call it" now.

There's plenty more I can't think of right now, as the pregnancy brain is now joining forces with my general blonde-ness to deplete almost all of my brain power, but you get the idea. Anyway, I'm told that being 38 weeks pregnant while wrangling a toddler is harder than actually having a newborn and a toddler, so I'm crossing my fingers that's true! We're getting really excited to hold Cubby Two and see the new big sister in action...
