Well, color me frustrated. We've been waiting since last Tuesday to hear results back on whether Ellie has a thyroid disorder, and I finally got ahold of the doctor today. Of the three tests he had ordered, two of them came back normal now, which is good news. The problem, and the reason it took so long for him to call us back, is that the lab coded the third test wrong and didn't do the test he needs. He was waiting to hear back from them on whether they can use the same vial of blood they'd already taken to do the correct test, and just got a message back this morning that no, they cannot. Now I have to take Ellie-Bug BACK to the lab this afternoon so they can draw blood for the FOURTH time and further torture my baby because of their ineptitude. Grrrr!
We should know by Wednesday whether that final test came back normal or not. The doctor said that he really needs that last result in order to know for sure that she's okay, and he can't rest easy until that one comes back because if it's abnormal, they need to get her on the medication for hypothyroidism ASAP. I'm definitely glad they screen for this when they're newborns, before they can start having developmental delays and such, but I sure wish the lab would get their duckies in a row and quit sucking the life-blood out of my little girl!
Here are a few new pics:

This was after Elliana's first bath (please note the lack of Naked Baby Photos--hopefully this good deed will balance out at least one of the injustices she experiences as a second child!):
My big girl:

She looks very happy after her first bath! Silas's first bath pics are all of one very unhappy baby.
